Clients have found that Teletherapy is an effective alternative to face-to-face therapy, and for some, it’s proven very effective. Some clients struggle to keep regular appointments with a therapist at his/her office due to lack of childcare, money for gasoline, weather conditions, and work constraints. Now, you can get your appointment scheduled and be where you want. All you need is a computer and private location without distractions.
There is a heightened awareness and focus on security issues over the internet. Therefore, HIPAA compliance offers clients the needed reassurance that we do all that we can to protect the nature of the private and confidential information that we may share. We do this to the very best of our ability
Many of our online therapy programs are based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is used to address post-traumatic stress (PTS), depression, to identify, challenge and overcome negative cognitions, behaviors and emotions.
According to National Center for Biotechnology Information, CBT is one of the most commonly used methods for treating mental problems and studies show that online therapy using CBT is just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy.

If You Are in Crisis
Online counseling is not appropriate for all kinds of problems. If you have suicidal thoughts it's important that you seek help immediately. If you are located in the US, call 1.800.784.2433 or 911 and ask for help.
If you are in a life threatening situation or crisis, DO NOT use this service. Please contact your local crisis line.
Pierce County Crisis 1 (800) 576-7764; King County Crisis (206) 461-3222 or 1 (800) 244-5767; Kitsap County (360) 479-3033 OR Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, a free, 24-hour hotline, at (800) 273-8255. Your call will be routed to the crisis center near you.
If your issue is an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Our clinicians have worked & learned in diverse environments around people from every walk of life. From these experiences, we have come to believe that only second to the client –therapist connection is that the medium of connection needs to fit the client in order to be effective. For some, that medium might be over the internet, for others it may be in the comfort of their home, and for others it may be in our office.
Is It Secure?
CAC takes client privacy very seriously. For office sessions, that means taking measures such as appropriate sound proofing, coded files in locked file cabinets, and secure and encrypted computers/devices.
Client privacy continues to be equally as important when online. Your privacy starts with computer encryption and a secure network. Online video sessions are conducted using an encrypted video conferencing service.
Our service uses FIPS 140-2 certified 256 bit AES encryption. It works much like Skype or FaceTime, however, it follows HIPAA and HITECH security standards required of healthcare professionals. We are vigilant in our efforts to find a balance between utilizing the best available technology, keeping your personal information private and secure while continuing to provide convenient access to therapy.
